I ♥ Faces - Pets
Charlotte arrived at our house about 2 1/2 weeks ago. I nearly had a heart attack when I first saw her, but upon Googling her and finding out that she is merely a Garden Spider that doesn't like to eat humans, I decided to let her stay. I broke out my macro lens and camped out inches from her (on the other side of the glass window in my office). I have grown very fond of Charlotte in the last few weeks. I have actually taken a couple hundred photos of her. She is very special. I've seen her build her web every morning and run over to the poor helpless victims that get caught in her web. She wraps them tightly and suffocates them before having a feast. It is fascinating from this side of the glass. If she were on the same side as myself and my family, it would be a different story.

Wow, fantastic photo. That would be interesting to watch ... from behind the window.
ReplyDeleteWe have several Charlottes at our house too. We find them quite fascinating too. One of ours just laid her second egg sac. http://momofadamabbyandrew.blogspot.com/2009/09/dilemma.html
